When you contact me by email or phone, I receive the information you choose to send: your name, your email address, your phone number, your organization, and whatever you tell me about your project. When you visit this website, my hosting provider may log basic technical information for security and operational purposes — IP address, browser type, pages visited. I do not run analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts. This site uses no cookies for tracking.
I use your contact information to respond to your inquiry, prepare quotes, and carry out the translation work we agree on. I do not add you to any mailing list, and I do not use your information for marketing. If we work together, I keep records of our correspondence and of the work itself for as long as professional, legal, and tax obligations require — typically a number of years for billing and certification records.
The documents you send me for translation, revision, or evaluation are treated as confidential. This is a professional commitment, not just a policy.
Specifically: I do not submit your content to public machine translation engines (DeepL Free, Google Translate, ChatGPT, or similar) under any circumstances. I do not share your documents with subcontractors, because I work alone — your files are never seen by anyone other than me. Working files are stored on my own equipment in a controlled environment, not on shared cloud services where third parties could access them. When a project ends, working files are retained only as long as needed for revision cycles and reference, then removed.
If your organization requires a formal non-disclosure agreement before sending materials, I sign one without difficulty.
I do not sell, trade, or rent your information to anyone. I do not share it with third parties, except when required by law or by an order from a competent authority. As an OTTIAQ-certified translator, I am also bound by the professional code of ethics of my order, which includes strict obligations of confidentiality.
This site may contain links to external websites — for instance, the OTTIAQ website, or pages referenced in the course of my work. I have no control over the privacy practices or content of those sites, and I encourage you to read their own privacy policies if you visit them.
Under Canadian and Quebec privacy law — specifically the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (modernized by Law 25 in 2022) — you have the right to access the personal information I hold about you, to request corrections, and to ask that it be deleted when there is no remaining legal or professional reason to retain it. I may update this policy from time to time. The date below indicates when the current version was published. Material changes will be noted explicitly.
